Have you ever come to a point in your life where believing in God no longer seemed possible? When the incident or death happened that permanently altered your life, you were depending on him for protection. You can feel more lost than you ever have because you were relying on his knowledge and direction. You’ve done nothing but put your faith in His promises, yet your trust has not been rewarded. You’ve searched every inch of your surroundings for him, but you can’t find him.I only arrived at this point a few days ago after failing my entrance exam. This has probably been the biggest failure of my life. I understand how it feels to not be able to accomplish what you had intended. I wonder if there is a God and, if there is, can I truly trust him when I need him most when I emerge from my dejected state, dust myself off, and look upward.God and his ultimate intentions allow and regulate both our and evil spirit’s ability to exert control. What do you suppose the world would be like if God had no power to rule over humans, or his own creation? In all honesty, the world would have ended a long time ago! We can believe that God is ultimately in control, even when things seem to be out of control, make no sense to us, or seem to be spiralling out of control due to wickedness.Consider the sights and sounds we encounter in this life. Is it really all there is? Does fate control how we live? Is it just a matter of luck or circumstance whether lives are lost or saved? What hope is there if all there is to life is the evolution of carbon-based life forms that eventually perish due to fate, luck, or chance? If this is all there is, how can the meaning of our life be explained? What purpose does the complexity and detail of this world serve if it is only spinning out of control? We must come to the conclusion that there is more to the narrative than what we see and experience in this world when we look about and witness injustice but also know that God is a God of justice. When we observe illness and disease but are aware that God is a God of healing, we must understand there is more to the tale. We must have faith that there is more to the tale when we experience difficulty yet are aware that God is a God of compassion and mercy. More than we can ever imagine, actually. We are getting ready for the future with the help of our benefits, struggles, errors, and infirmities.
